A Triple Lynching
Russell, Kan., Jan. 15. - A mob of aboufc 30 raen entered the jail at this place, took out J. G. Burton. William j Gay and his son John Gay, and hung I the trio to a small railroad bridge a short distance east of the depot in this city. The crime for which the men were lynched was the killing of Fred Dinning in Jtfly last on the Burton place, about 20 miles northeast of this city. Inquiries regarding a draft payable to Dinning and his ïnysterious 'Msappearance led to an investigation and the arrest of Burton, who implicated tlie other two men. Each made a eonfeseion, which led to the flnding of DiiiI ning's body buried in a field near the scène of thoknurder.
