California boasts of a number of women farmers who manage large estates. make money and keep healihy and happy. The comforts of farm life heve are greater than tliey are in the east, and there is a possibility of gaining more than a mere living. Sorne of the women farmers have won more than roere local fame. Mis. Theodosia Shepherd of Ventura is kuown in the east as a cultivator of California flower seeds and bnlbs. Mrs. Strong is known far and wide as the woman v;ho makes a good income by rr.ising and selling pampas grass. Mrs. E. P.
