An Explanatory Epitaph

The íollowiug epitaph is to be found in the Cross kirkyard, Shetland, on a handsome mausoleum: DONALD ROBERTSON. Born lst January, 1786; diecl 4th June, 1848; aged sixty-three years. He was a peaceful and quiet man, and to all aopearance a sincere Christian. Hls death was very much lamented, which was caused by the stupidity of Lauhenc:e Tcllouh, of Gixjthertoh, who sold him nitrs lristead of epsom salts, by which he was killed in the space of threehours alter tak ing a dose of it.
