The criminal docket has been cleared up in the circuit court this week. Since Tuesday's paper the case of Irving W. Hicks for stealing a bicycle has been continued over the term. ■ Arthur Crump was found guilty of receiving stolen property after a jury trial. The property was stolen f rom the auction rooms on N. Main street, He has not yet been sentenced. Lyman Brown, charged with assault with intent to commit rape, withdrew his plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty. Sentence was suspended. On 'Vednesday the case of Wm. Blacklurn charged with highway robbery was tried. He was defended by F. J. Riggs and Andrew E. Gibson. One of the witnesses for the prosecution in the examination, was net to be found. The jury was out for twenty hours and brought in a verdict of not guilty. As the case against James Brown was precisely similar, a nolle pros was entered in it. ine attermon oí tne cuun yesiciday was taken up with the trial of Robert Sherwood, of Superior, for the Lrca&y of sheep. This case was twice tried in the justice court in Ypsilanti and was appealed to the circuit court. It has attracted considerable attention. The jury was out about an hour and brought in a verdict of guilty and the prisoner was sentenced to pay $100 fine or to three months in the Detroit House of Correction.
