Some of the farmers here are talkiug quite strong of building a $4,000 creamery, but it takes 'money to make the niare go.'' Willis is taking a big boom at present in the anticipaciĆ³n of a hotel and a creamery. Mr. Kimbell has purchased a lot on which he intends to erect a brick hotel in the near future. Jesse Day had a valuable three year old colt die May 22d. The cause of its death is a mystery. The colt was appareutly well until a few days ago, when a s welling was noticed on its head and nothing did it any good. William Sherman was kicked by a colt while tryingto drive it out of the barn yard. The colt struck him on the hip and Mr. Sherman says it sent him twenty feet. There were no bones broken and Mr. Sherman is doing well under the care of Dr. Post. The farmers of this vicinity are having more rain than they want at present. Those that have planted their corn now wish they had not. Some of them are having the blues and are almostready to give up in despair; while others console themsel ves by the fact that thousand of cut worms have been drowned by the rain. While Mr. Roberts, of Rawsonville, aud a gentleman trom Wayne were driving over a bridge that had recently been built the horse stumbled and feil on a plank making a slight wound near the stifle causing the horse to go lame. They went to Supervisor Dansingburg, claiming damages, and were allowed $35. We think such business is an im.position on the town of Augusta.
