E. M. Rook, of Superior township, owns a good farm and 250 skunks. Most of the latter are of the vintage of '94 and doing nicely. They will not be ready to shed their pelts till they reach the winter solstice at which time they are in their overcoats. Mr. Rook's skunk rookery is about as attractive as a county fair. Contrary to the impression of the unitiated, there is nothing about the domestic skunk, if he is treated with reasonable courtesy, to suggest 'Uang-'llang or attar of roses and he is as easily farmed as other poultry. Since the rage for pet animáis is so general among the ladies and Spitz and poodles are scarce and high, those who are without such charming idols might try a pet from Rook's zoo.
