A meeting of some twenty citizens, presided over by Prof. Perry, wifh Rev. Gelston secretary, was held in the court room Tuesday evening to hear and discuss a plari preparad by Rev. Mr. Bradshaw for the lodgment of the tramp tourist and the relief of his stomach from the pangs of hunger. In brief the plan proposed was to consist of a reciprocity between the tramp and his benefactors. Rev. Bradshaw read an article in Popular Opinión on the salutary working of such a plan in Baltimore, where in January last, a wayfarers' lodge was established. The appiicant was taken in for lodging, disinfected, given a bath, supper and breakfast, in return for which he was to exercisehis muscles at the wood pile. The scheme worked so well that the importunities of the wandering fraternitv, at the residences of citizens and the number who applied at the pólice stations materially diminished. The Baltimore idea was disI cussed by several citizens present, and it was finally decided that a coramittee to further consider the subject be selected by Rev. Mr. Bradshaw, and the meeting then adjourried.
