Taking the paper off disclosed a tin box, about 3 by 4 iuches. Mr. Davis opened the wrcngênd and that is all that saved his life, for, pulling off the cover on the end he found that it contained two and a quarter pounda of gunpowder of the the very finest quality. Upon opening the other end after the powder was taken out he found a piece sandpaper with match and fuse attached.
