J.ROXWOOD. Juiy 4. - a Dattie ocourreü at 2 ü. ni., between striking miners and deputies. Three huudred shots are reported to have been fired. Several niiners feil and were carried away by their comrades. The uauies of the dead and injured are not known. The Norrie Mine is now in the hand of the strikers. Sheriff Edxly has tele graphed Governor Rich for troops. One oL the strikers, a Finlamier, i known to have been killed in the fight Several other strikers were shot, one o them probably fatally. Captain W. H. Knight was surround ed by strikers and beaten with club and stones, but bis injuries are no dangerous. Ernest Knight, the crane inan on the steam shovel, was chasei half a ruile by a uiob of 50. Seeing hi escape cut off he turned and fired int his pursuers and esuaped with only a severe beating. The strikers are in an angry inooc and the more conservative citizens fear that more trouble is brewing. A coui mittee of business men is trying to bring the oompany and the men to gether in conference with a view t ending the strike.
