Mrs. Ross Granger left today for Detroit. R. Kearns, of Detroit, was in the city over Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Roy McClure left for St. Joe, Saturday. Oscar Schmid, of Jackson, spent Sunday with his parents. J. W. Lewis went to Detroit, Wednesday, on a business trip. Mr. J. U. Schulz, of Toledo, spent Sunday here with friends. George Wahr is expected home from Europe the last of this week. Jacob Gwinner and Alfred Paul are camping for a few days at Whitmore. Dr. W. B. Eister, of Flushing, spent Sunday with his mother and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Roy McClure, of the Cook house, are visiting at St. Joseph. Dr. V. C. Vaughan will start on his postponed trip to Europe tomorrow. Harry W. Douglas and family have gone to Topinabee to spend a short time. Miss Lydia Weitbrecht left today for a four weeks' visit with friends in Detroit. Leo. Gruner, jr., left yesterday for a week's visit with friends in Kalamazoo. Dr. A. K. Hale returned yesterday from a visit at his home in Adams, N. Y. Ed. Lohr and Ed. Hutzel are spending a few days with campers at Portage lake. Edwin Roberts and his mother, of Fort Madison, Iowa, are visitinj with Gov. Felch. John Heinzmann and family have returned from their visit with relatives at Bay City. Fred W. Schulz and family, of Detroit, are visiting relatives and friends in the city. . The Misses Flora and Bessie Banghart, of Lansing, are visiting Miss Bertha Eldert. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Richard and Mrs. Tiny Blume and daughter are camping at Whitmore. Mrs. George Dengler and Mrs. Fred Haehnle, of Chicago, are visiting friends at Chelsea. Eugene J. Koch left Saturday for New York, where he will spend the remainder of his vacation. Charles Feiner, of Clinton, Iowa, is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Feiner for a short time. Miss Carrie Schulz is spending a couple of weeks with her sister, Mrs. Albert Lohr, in Marshall. Miss Matie Carrand Emma Gwinner are staying at at the Weideman House at Whitmor for a few days. The Misses C. Reimold and Lizzie and Edna Krause have returned from a week's stay at Whitmore. Mrs. W. W. Watts left for Grand Rapids, Monday, where she will visit her sister, Mrs. Ella Powers. Mrs. O. M. Martin left last Friday morning for a northern trip to Frankfort, Cheboygan and other points. Miss Julia Fohey left last Friday for Owosso, where she will join a party and go to Crystal lake for a few weeks. Rev. C. A. Young returned from Iowa. Mrs. Young is still in California. Her health has not improved very much. Prof. T. A. Bogle is in Pooli, Kas., where he was called by a telegram announcing the serious illness of his mother. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Stimson, who have made their home in California for the past year, have returned to this city to reside. James Robison left for Island Lake, Monday, a. m., with id horses for the use of the Governor's stalt and other officers dunng the encampment. J. D. Ryan and h's sister-in-law, Miss Galloway, of Brighton, returned yesterday from their pleasure trip through the northern part of the state. Rev. W. A. Burch, D. D., of Washington, D. C, is in the city for a few days, in the interest of the Y. M. C. A. work among the colored men. Judge Howard, of South Bend, [nd., who has been visiting his arother Frank Howard and his sister, Miss Julia A. Howard, left for [ndianapolis, Monday. Mrs. N. A. Beecher and daughter, Miss Fannie, who have been spending the past few days with Mrs. L. E. Cheever, returned to their home in Flushing. Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Sheehan returned from their European trip on Sunday night, and are stopping for a few days at 18 Church Street until their Huron street house is settled. Ad Collum returned last week trom a lake excursión, and resents the calumnious report that he nearly upset a boat by shifting his quid of tobáceo from one side1 of his face to the other. J. T. Jacobs will sell at Auction, at 3 p. m., Thursday, ióth inst., Lot and a half on Washtenaw ave., opposite late Dr. Ford's residence on line of city street railroad. Wahn of Detroit, Auctioneer.
