Alfred N. Chandler, of the J. A. 3 ríll Car Manufacturing Company, Philadelphia, was in the city last riday, and looked over the street car plant of this city, together with he franchises of Samuel Nesmith, jetween here and Tecumseh, partially with a view to taking hold of he matter that has so long been agiated in our midst, with a view to jringing it to a successful issue. Mr. Chandler, after looking over the plant here, and studying the possibilities of its improvement, took a short trip towards Tecumseh, going over the proposed route of the inter-urban connection. He then came back to Adrián, and left here Friday night for Detroit, where he attended a meeting of the board of directors of the Adrián road. The various phases of a proposed purchase of the road were talked over, and Mr. Chandler, although noncommittal, talked very favorably of the project. He afterwards visited Ann Arbor, and looked at the subject from that end of the route. He left for home to make a report to Mr. Brill, who has the purchase of the franchises and the Adrián road under advisement. Mr. Chandler will report favorably on theinvestigationsmade, and a speedy answer may be forthcoming. If not, Mr. Brill himself may make a personal inspection. -
