Walter H. Dancer, the democratie nominee of the first district of this county in the lower house of the state legislature, was bom in the township in which he still resides. He is fifty years of age, and has always lived in the township of Lima. Mr. Dancer is a practical and successful farmer, and the owner of two hundred acres of as fine land as is in the county. His first office was that of supervisor of his township. He was first elected in 1880, redeeming the town from the republicans; re-elected in 1881, receiving every democratie vote in his township but one. He was again called upon by his party to wrest his township from the control of the republicans in 1893, and was successful. Again renominated this last spring, he was the only man on the democratie ticket elected, except a constable, receiving every democratie vote in his township but one. Mr. Dancer is an uncompromising democrat, ever true to the democratie platform, its ticket, and its candidates. He, by his long and faithful service to every cali of his party, without hope or de'sire of reward, is entit'.ed to the loyal and unanimous support of his party. Mr. Dancer will make an intelligent, industrious and painstaking legislator. His election means a vote for two United States senators.
