Bkaixahd, Jlirvn., Oct. 1. - A heavy rain has set in and all fear from the forest flres has novv passed. Tho night befor tho rain was a nlght of terror hore. Th lires had eaten their way into the city limits and a fierce gale was biowing the fiamos diredtly toward the rcsidence portion of the city. Hundreds wore fighting. tho flaraes all night and every onu was awake and anxioua. Many farmers coming into tho city have lost all but the clothes on their backs.
