The fourteentli annual re-union of the 16th Michigan Yeteran Yolunteer Infantry Association, will be held in the city of Ann Arbor, Tliursday October 18th. Headquarters will be in the hall of We'.eh Post, ;. A. R., corner of Main and Washington sts. A business meeting will be held at Post Hall at 2 p. m., at which time the annual eleetion of officers wi 1 take place. AJ 0:30 p. m., a b:inquet will be given in the Rink. It will be p-repared by the I.adies' Relief Corps. The last reunión of the 16th Mich. Inft. was held at Owosso, last October, at which time Dr. Breakey who was surgeon of the regiment, invited the veterans to hold the next reunion in Ann Arbor, a-ssuring them of a cordial welcome from G. A. R. comrades of Welch Post, and from the citizens. Reunions of the 4th and 20th Regtsé Mich. Inft'y. have been held here, a.nd the state encampment was held here Ihree years ago, and all were well entertained with the characteristic hospitality of Ann Arbor. This was the home and burial place of Col. N. E. Welch, of the lOth Mich. Inft'y, in whose memory the G. A. R. Post here is named. Aud there is no doubt that all that our citizeas can do to make the meeting a success will be cheerfully done. The Womans' Relief Corps will provide supper, and a few citizens will be asked to aid members of the Post to meet the necessary incidental expense, and ithe expense of the W. R. Q., thus aidüig a deser-ing and worthy local charity, while they cheer with grateful remembrance the veteran who exposed ais life for the proteetion of other lives, and for the maintenance of "government by the people and of the people, and for the people." And also teach the rising generation that patriot Urn is not forgotten by a grateful people. Many oft hese veterans can illy afford the cost of coming to meet their cornrades, and any persous disposed to offer lodgimg to Biich as will accept it, will please make it known to Maj. Soule, Ooi. Dean or Dr. Breakey, who are a committee of the Post.
