Chicaoo, Oct. 15.- Fout railrvay cmflryes - Stanley Kiiowles, John Bodewig, Gooïgc W. Johnsmi and S. M. Jewett - were HJTCsted and placed in jaü in Battlo Creik, Mioh. They are charged with wrecking a Chicago and Grand Trunk passenger train at Battlc CreokatSo'cloek in the morning, July 16 last. Flreman C.'row was killed at the time and twenty passengere were seriously injured. Knówles and Jewett worecaptured in this city. Tho men are all A. R. U. men and wero ongaged in the Dehs strike, and it is statcd that incendiary talk that was indulged at the meeting of the strikers a Battlc Creck is largely responsible for th urinic. Very soon after tlie wreek occurred off cials of the railway were in communie: tlon with a detective ageney in this cit and the gTound was soon covered wit skilled sleuths, who found a clew in th discovery of the clawbar with which th wreckers h;l done theirwork. It is ag eerted by the prosecution that the cvideno is abundan t to convict tho men, to sa nothing of the fact that ono of them ha made a oonfession. The wrockers wer not going to stop at the crime of July 1( bnt had planned several other wrecks notably the dcrailment of a train load o new hands, but for one reason and anothe these schemes were abandoned.
