New York.Not. 1.- President Harrison spoke at Carnegio Music Hall last evening. The meeting was held underthe auspices of the Republican state committeo to ratify tho nomination of Morton and Sexton. When the doors were opened at 7 o'clock tho street was crowded. When 6,000 persons were packod into the hall there were still many thousands outsido sceking admittance. As the band concluded a familiar air two gentlemen in clerical attire wore ushered across the platform. Some of those in the hall recognized one of thum as Archbishop Ireland, of St. Paul. His companion was Bishop McGolrick, of Duluth. It was 8:30 and neither Harrison nor Morton had put in an appearance. Tho auilk'iice was getting impatient, when there was i commotion at the door and Harrison and Morton appeared. Their arrival wae signalized by a great outburst of enthusiasm. Tho people stood up, waved ÜHgs, hats and handkerchiofs and oheered um.il they grew hoarse. Morton presided and Harrisou made a speech thut wns oheored from start to finish. Prevlous to introducing Gieneral Harrison Morton spoko for about flfteen minutes, it being his ftrst speech of the carapaign.
