The Eastern Star
At the Eastern Star chapter meeting Wednesday evening, last week, the following officers were chosen: Worthy matron, Mrs. Mabel K. Pond: worthy patrĂ³n, A. C. Nichols; assotiate matron, Miss Emtna E. Bower; secretaYy, Mrs. C. E. Fitzgerald; treasurer, Mrs. L. Mae Nichols; conductress, Mrs. Ida Moore; associate conductress, Mrs. Matilda Granger; Adah, Mrs. Ella Bennett; Ruth, Mrs. Dora Vandawarker; Esther, Mrs. Mary Ball; Martha, Mrs. Fred Howlett; Electa, Mrs. Eva Goodrich; warder, Mrs. Mary J. Mingay; sentinel, Thos. Taylor. A feature of the evening, not provided for in the "play," was the surprise perpretrated by the raasculine members of the order, who gained admission at an opportune moment, and through W. G. Doty presented the ladies with a beautiful floor cloth, in colors. representing a five pointed star. Mrs. Mabel K. Pond, on behalf of the surprised sisters rendered a happy acknowledgment of the gift.
