Those who love to see a fine hutnan race should not miss securing a reserved seat on the east front steps of the court house at 3 o'clock this afternoon. The race will be between two butchers, and will be for bloori (butchers generally are for blood) unless stopped by the society for the prevention of cruelty to animáis. The contestants are Slim Jim Cannon and the ponderous Martin Vogel. Distance 20 rods on Fourth avenue, from the center of the Ann and Fourth street cross ing to the Cook house. The prize is understood to be $5, and the belt, made from the tail or a Texas steer. Connor being very slim compared with Vogel, will run weighted with sand-bags, to keep him from going up in case he " busts " a suspender or anything, while Mr. Vogel will be attached to a hot air balloon as a precaution against wreek should he trip and f all. The race between blubber and barebones will be exciting and will make a record in sporting history that will go thundering down the ages, especially if Vogel gets a fall.
