Wheat and grass are Hable to be injured by the present freezing and thawing weather. Fall term of school in this district closed last Friday. Winter term began on Monday, Dec. $d, Miss Diehl, of Ann Arbor, teacher. Farmers are mostly done with fall work with the exception of plowing. Sorae work has been done lately near the Junction on the railroads. Mr. J. Gage keeps a grocery at the Junction. Not much business is going on now in Pittsfield. Winter weather is upon tis early I this season. Mr. Tray and Mr. Fiegel turned out a good deal of eider this season. Mr. Nowlin's saw mili is not running at present. It is not known whether he will saw this winter.
