Mrs. John Gregory, who has been very il], is improving. C. H. Stannard is improving, af ter a sever'e attack of neuralgia o the head. Quite a number from this place attended the dance at Chelsea on Friday evening last. Miss Maggie Phalan, of Jackson, is visiting her cousins here for a few weeks. Jim Curlett was in Chelsea last week with his friends there. Miss Grace ülsaver was with her friends here last week. Mrs. Ed Coy, of Jackson, has returned home. Mr. Burkart, of Chelsea, was here on business last week. M. Cavanaugh, of Ann Arbor, made a business trip here last Wednesday. Fred Balden has returned to Ypsilanti. Misses Maggie and Nancy Phelps, of Ann Arbor, visited their grandmother here last week. Miss Rena Van Buren has returned to her home at Ypsilanti. Dr. H. S. Sigler visited his son in Ann Arbor last Sunday. Toni Mack, of Chelsea, made a cali on some of his friends here last Saturday. Miss H. Pierce has returned to her home, after several weeks' visit with her sister here. E. I.aubengayer and P.Scliuholtz, of the University city, were among their friends last week. Mr. and Mrs. VV. Valentine, of Hamburg, spent Sunday with her parents here. Herbert Newkirk was one of the speakers at the Odd Fellows' hall that was dedicated at Milan last Pnday night. Miss Letetia Riopelle, of Delray is visitiog her cousins here. J. V. N. Gregory and Edward Phelps art in Arkansas City, Mis souri. Miss Blanche Cushman has returned home from Ann Arbor. Jas. Hanna has returned home after several weeks' visit with friends at Muskegon. Mrs. E. J. Mains has been entertainiiig her daughter for several days the past week. Thomas Rabbit was looking after lis business interests in Marión on Vlonday. Deputy Toen Bell was in Anderson, on business, Monday. Died, Wednesday, Jan. 9, 1895, Mrs. feilen O'Hara, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Michael Conley, of Webster, in the 88th year of her age. She leaves four dauglitersand one son to niourn her loss. The funeral services were held at St. Joseph's church Friday morning, and were conducted by Rev. Frs. Kelly, of Ann Arbor, Goldrick, of Northfield, and Fleming, of this place. The remains were placed in St. Joseph's cemetery. Ed. Doane made a business trip lere on Wednesday. Mr. Schults made a visit with Geddes friends one day last week. Miss Minnie Campbell and unele visited her grandparents on Monday. Died at her home in this village, Sunday evening, Jan. I3th, Mrs. She leaves three daughters to mourn her departure, all of whom are rnarried. The funeral services were held at the house on Tuesday afternoon. Rev. A. H. McConnell officiated, and the remains were aken east for burial. Mr. Hinche, of Pinckney, niade his friends a cali one day last week. It is reported that there is to be nother raeat market in our village. Andrew Straith was a Pinckney isitor, Friday. Jay Warren has rented his farm o Mr. Pratt. Harrison Bostwick is visiting his rother in Georgia this winter. Mrs. Willis Collins, of Marión, as been visiting her mother here. Miss Clara Clark, of the Univerity city, has been visiting relatives t this place. Mr. Sage, of Aun Arbor will be t iludson school house next Monay evening, Jan. 21, to organize a inging school. Everybody is in-! ted to come. Fred Stable, of A'nn Arbor, was ! ere on business last Monday. Mr. Dunning, of Pinckney, made lis friends a pleasant cali last week. ■ The young men of this place will give a social dance at the Dexter opera house on Friday evening, Jan. 18. A good time is expected by all. Mrs. Ben Allen, of Pinckney, passed thorough here on her way to Ann Arborto visit friends, Tuesday. Mr. Canfield, of Sylvan, made a flying trip here on Wednesday. Burt Isham, of Putnam, was a visitor here on Wednesday. George Culy, of Hamburg, was shaking hands with sorae of his friends on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Conners had the pleasure of éntertaining his sister from abroad one day the past week. Mr. Wood, of Chelsea, is hete on business for a few days. H. Pearson, of Howell, passed through here on his way to the University city on Saturday. Mr. Goodale, of Iosco, was here visiting his old friends one day the past week. The house occupied by Abner Mackinder, of Stockbridge, was burned to the ground and nearly all the household goods were consumed. Mr. Mackinder was once a resident of this place. Miss Mary Story entertained about 25 of her schoolmates last Wednesday evening. The evening was spent in games and dancing and a bountiful supper was served and all reported having a good time. Mrs. H. McClain entertained her jrother and wife on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. P. Seper have been éntertaining their niece for a few days. Mr. Stone, ot Augusta, was with friends here last week.
