A medical journal urges, sensibly enongh, that in the present extravagant expenditure in house building a littla money should be laid out in arranging for a siokroom, built on the sunny sida and equipped with at least the simple means for isolation and care of a siok persou. Ventilation should be well congidered. The walls may beof washable material - paint tiles or covered with waterproof bath paper. The plumbing should be out of but conven ient to it. A little of the time and money investod in librarles, ballrooms and oriental parlors speut on an apartment whose use iu au emergency not unusual to frail humanity may insure the comfort and eafety to the family that is necessary to the enjoyment of the more luxurious rooms.
