The following is the proposed amendment to the constitution of Michigan relative to the salaries of state officers, to be voted on at the general election to be held on Monday, April first next. Resolved by the Senate and House of Jlepresentatives of the State of Michigan, That au amendment to section one of artieleniue of the constitution of this State be and the same is hereby proposed, to read as follows: Section]. The Governor shall receive an annual salary of tour thousand dollars; the Judge of the Circuit Court shall eaeh receive an annual salary of two thöusajid five hundied dollars; the State Treasurer shall receive an anima] salary of two thousand five liundred dollars: the Becretary of State shall receive au annual salary of two thousand live liundred dollars: the Commissioner of tiie Land Oflice shall receive au annual salary of two thousand five hundred dollars; the Attorney General shall receive an annual salary of tliree thousand nve hundred dollars; the Superintendent of Public Instruction shall receive an annual salary of two thousand live hundred dollars; the Auditor General shall receive au annual salary of three thousand dollars; they shall receive nofeesorperquisites whatever for the performance of any dutiesconnected vvith their office, and they shall personally attend to the duties of their oflice. It shall not be competent for the Legislatura to increase the salaries herein provided. Be it further Resolved, ïhat said ameudnient shall be subinitted to the people of this State at the next spring election, on the lirst Monday in April in the yearone thousand eight hundred and ninety-üve,and the Secretary of State is hereby re(juired to give notice of the same to the sheriffs of the several counties of this State, at least flfteen days prior to said election. The brillots lor and aguinst this amendment shall be printed at the toot of the general ticket as provided by laV, and designated as follows: Amendment to the Constitution relative to salaries of said State officers,- "Yes." Amendment to the Constitution relative to salaries of State officers, -"No." Said ballots in all respects to be oanvassed and return made as in elections ot Justices of the Supreme Court. Resolved further, That the joint re.solution entitled, "Joint resolution proprosing an amendmeut to section one of article nine of the constitution of tlu.s State, relative to salaries," which was paased at the present session of the Legislature, be and the same is hereby repealed. This joint resolution is ordered to take i m medíate effect.
