Remember the issues, Monday. The republicans, while at the head he city government have rolled up he expenses,, foeyond anything ever cnown in the history of Ann Aror. In the two years the acual disbursements have been $138,121.40 and of thisamount the sewer expenses have been $43,438.68 leavng $95,382.72 for the other city expenses in two years. When you come to think of it, this is an enormous sum to spend without more )ermanent improvements to show for it. Our readers can hardly realize the costliness of the republican city government. Andalthough the first year of the republican government last year was more costly than the preceeding democratie administrations, the administration this past year cost about ten per cent. more than the expensive republican administration of the year before. This only ülustrates the constant tendency among the republicans to increase the cost of the city gOTernnient. Another example of it is the raising the salaries of city officers for future years in the charter amendments and the creation of the expensive seventh ward, with its possibilities of extra cost to the taxpayers of the whole city, for the partisian purpose of creating two more republican aldermen and another republican supervisor. How little the people have been consulted was clearly shown by the surreptitious change of boundaries in the new ward. These things ougnt clearly to be rebuked. Our citizens have a chance to be heard, Monday.
