Well Known Wisconsin Veteran Dead

MlLWAUKKE, April 15 -Colonel Colwert K. Pier, oue of the best knowu war veterans in Wisconsin, died suddenly yesterday afternoon of apoplexy. Colonel Pier was the son of Edward Pier, the flrst white settler at the location oí Fond du Lac. Colonel Pier was a lawyer and his widow and three dauffhtorg have all been admitted to the bar, Mrs. Pier being a oourt commissloner. Colonel Pier was the ürst volunteer in the rebellion from Fond du Lae, and took a conspicuous part ut the battle of the Wilderness with General Graut, where he won a promotion to lieutenancy.
