"The great. dilliculty In bringing about this conditiou of alï.ürs here is that tho opcrators claim that a combination of this sorc is illegal and demand an amendment to tho anti-trust law making it possible for coal producers to enter into a combinatiou for the purpose of advancing prices and wages. Ji'or this roason the miners' officials of thia state are in favor of the passiigo of the Littlor amendment to the trust law."
