As the decades and the centuries oí our national life roll along Fourth of July should become inore and inore significant as our national holiday. Each year freights it with the history of the past and the prospects of the future. The history mingles the happy and the sad lessone of experience. The prospects cheer and wam n,s. Euch year the day should be made a national communion at which should asseinble all dwellers within our borders, no matter what their creed or race, provided only they love this land of freedom and recognize this government of citizenship. Let the children serv'e the communion. Thus shall be assurecl the continuauce of the festival. Thus shall they who serve grovv up to honor and understand the
