Springfikld, June 30.- Statesmen have already begun to return to Sprlngfleld for the extra session. The early morning train írom Chicago brought Edgar C. Hawley, of Kane county; Thomas F. Ferns, Daniel S. Berry, and Senator Aspinwall. Each of them expresaed groat surprise at Governor Altgeld' 8 actton in umnioning the legislature. Hawley said that if laws wero enacted on all the subject mentioned in the proclainatlon the session would last four months. Berry thlnks it would be best to push ahead and finish the work, but the governor failod to put in his list legislation to pro vide for the expenses of the session and the olaim is made that as soon as the speoial session meets it will have to bo prorogued and another cali issuei which will oost the state an extra $15,000. Governor Altgeld, who is at Chicago, is reported as saying that the matter is of no oonsequenoe and the legislature can go right to work as soon as it assembles.
