Lincoln, Aug. 29.- At least 500 delegates wero in attendance at the Populist state convention. The most prominent eaders of the party - United States Semor Allen, ex-United States Senator Va wiek, Campbell, of Fremont, Hoaton of Kearnoy, and others were present, with a largo following of representativo Populista of the country. Samuel Maxwell was norninated for supremo judge and Janees K. Thurston and E. W. Peattio for nni versity regenta. The platform is tht Omaha deel aratlon includingthe initative and referendum, against which a llght was made. Utah Bepnblican Convention. Salt Lake City, Ang. 89.- The Utah Republiean eonvention nominated D. BE. Wells for governor and C. S. Zane, J. W. Bartch and J. Y. .Minor for supremo judges. The platform demanda free silver at 16 to 1, and otherwiseia iregulation Republiean declaration. O. E. Allen was nominated for congross, J. D. Hammond for seeretary of state, J. C. Chipman for tivasurer, A. C. Bishop for attorney general, Morgan Richards for auditor and Mrs. Emma J. McVickar for superintendent of public instructioB.
