Three tniners representing the Ishpeming and JS'eg-auuee strikers visited ISesseraer, presumably to solicit aid to carry on the strike. The notices carrying mass meetings, however, convey the idea among nimers that thé union is trying to cause a sympathetic strike on the Bessemer jange. Several hunáred attended the first mass meetings. The feeling expressed was that the strikers made a mistake, and should return to work. The coinmittee was much discouraged. A later dispatch from Ishpeining1 says: The strikers' solioiting cominittee has retured from the copper country, where they expected to secure 80,000, with but S120, the situation is becoming desperate for the men who have been idle for six weeks, and who were illy prepared for the seige. The men nardest to keep in line are the Finlanders and it is certain that the first day that hunger really pinches them they will malte a break for work. They are growiing deeply that the relief f unds promised them do not show up.
