Prohibition In Iowa
Perry, Nov. 28. - The poliĆ¼cians of Iowa ara engaged in a discussion of the probable aotion of the coming session of the leglslature upon the temperance quetion. Not least among the foremost topicB ia that of the resubraission of the prohibitory amendment. No one seems to b aware the movement to resubmit the questlon to a publio vote thls yoar Is an impossibllity. The constitution requires that a propogltion to amend the constitution niusfc pa two ucceeding sessions of the legislatura and then be submitted to a vote of tho people. The propositlo n was pasaed t the last session. The movement so far is a dead letter, because the constitution requires that the proposition shall be published thrae months in two papers in each congressional district prior to the election of tho ruembers of the second logislature that passes upon it. This portion of the luw has not been complied with.
