Fired At A Burglar

OEKTERVILLE, Ia., Jan. 23. - An attempt was made Tuesday night to rob the residence of J. L. Sawyer, who married a daughter of Governor Drake. Burglars had broken into the basement, and when tha fireinan went down to flx the f urnace about 11 o'clock a man stepped from behind a door and demanded the keys to the house. The flreman drew a revolver and flred a shot directly at the burglar, striking him, he thinks, In the arm. The burglar made hia escape and was tracked by the blood from the wound some distanoe, but no f urther clew could be obtained.
