When tbe "Country Circus" showed aere last Friday night the company had with them a littlo mule, poor and unEed. Instead of turning over the littie iumb bruteto the autborities or fco some porson whowould care for it, the rnaniger gave it to littie Jimmie Blithman. Jimmie could fiud no produce store apen from which he cnuld steal a gond square meal for the brute and the poor üoukey was found next day by Marshal Peterson at the corner of Spring and Felch Sts. Hetookit to Dr. Dell's barn and the doctor was to keep and care for it and get it in shape so that j the marshal could ride his donkeyship j as one oL the features of the parade of tbe Mid winter Circus next week. tBut the donkey failed to rally to any great extent and he was shot Monday. The manager of the "Couutry Circus" was A. V. Gibson, and but for the fact that be got oot of the state next day he would have been brought back here to answer to a charge of cruelty to animáis. Gibson made nofriendshere. While acting as ringmaster in the oirous performance which closes the "Country Circus" he made some remarks casting refleotions on the Midwinter Circus. He was forthwith promptly and effectually hissed and was hissed each time after that when ie attempted to announce his features.
