Geo. W. Shetterly, an old and respected resident of Ann Arbor, died at the family residenoe on Miller avenue Monday night, of heart and kidney trouble, aged T4 years. Mr. Shetterly has been a prominent citizen of Ann Arbor for many years and was an honored resident. He was born in Millstown, Perry Oounty, Pa., Deo. 18, 1822. His parents came to Michigan in 1832 and settled in the village of Utioa, Mich. In 1834 he caine to Aun Arbor and engaged in the cooper business, which he followed for several years and later settled in Ann Arbor town, taking np farming, which he had been engaged in np to the time of Ibis receut; illuess.. The deceased bad a very wide ao qnaintance in and abant Ann Aibor and was highly esUemed by all tbose who knewhioi,and leaves niany friends as well as relativos to mourn his loss. He was married in 1844 to Alary A. Lee, who together with a sister, Mrs. Eliza L. Lewis, of this city, and a brother, B. F. Shetterly, of Traverse City, two danghters and four sons snrvive him. These of the ohildren living are: Mrs. Geo. Moore, Mrs.B P. Cole, C. J. and A. J. Shetterly, of this city; Geo. B. Shetterly, of Streator, 111. aud Wui. H. Shetterly, of Kalatnazoo, Mich. The funeral services were held from the late resdeuoe on Miller avenue, at 2 :30 Thnrsday afternoou. Eev. Camden Cobern offloiatmg, interment being made in Forest Hill cenietery.
