The Barl of Winchelsea is best known to the English public by the great intercit he takes in matters agricultural. Hia interest in birds has led him to rnake maiiy expeditions, some of which have estended as far as Egypt, and to risk his lifs at the end of a rope many ■cores of times on the west coast of Scotland. Ha has the finest colleotion of ogles' eggs in Bngland. The earl is also keenly ioterested in pet animáis of diffarafc kinds, and he uaed to walk bot ti park at his ancestral Haverholme aeaompanied by a Honess.
