San Antonio, Tex., April 28.- While light battery F, Third United Statcs artillery, was flring a salute at Fort Saín Houston, commemorating the day Texas achieved her independence from Mexico, the premature explosión of a shell in the open breech of the oannon instantly killed Private George A. Parkhurat, and vvounded three other soldiers. Parkhurst's right side and arm were blown away by the charge.
