Friday eveuing last was quite a memorable occasion in Masouio circies. Ou that eveniiig Fraternity Lodge, No. 262, F. and A. M., conferred the Master Masoii's degree on fonr candidates, A. C. Schumaolier, Titus F.Hutzel, H. W. Conners and O. P. Cole. At 6:30 o'clock between 70 and 80 of the craft sat down to a substantial supper, after which work was commeuced and carried rapidly and skillfnlly along uncil fche degree had been conferred on each of the caudidates. Everytbiug moved off smoothly, and the beautiful ditsolving views of the scènes and eniblems connected with the degree as shown up by the fiue stereopticon recently purchased by Washteuaw Chapter, R. A. M., pleased everybody preseut. After the degree work had been finished those present to the nnmber of about 150 sat down to a bauquet spread by H. G. Prettyman as caterer. Followiug the banquet carne cigars. toasts aud speeches with Prof. L. ü. Wines as toastmasce -. Among those called upou fur speeches were H. Wirt Newkirk, master of Washtenaw Lodge, No. 4, Dexter; Frederick H. Spiers, of Detroit; A. J. Sawyer, A. C. Schumacher, Titus F. Hutzel. Tohu W. Benuett, H. W. Couners, O. P. Cole, R. S. Greeuwood, R. C. McAllaster, 'ieo. P. McCollnm. Visitors were present frorn Detroit, Dexter, Chelsea, Alilan, Ypsilauti, and one and all were loud in their praises of the excellence of the work and the hospitality of Frateruity Lodge, No. 262. Worshipful Master C. B. Davison was assisted in confercing the degrees by H. B. Dodsley, W. M. of Goldeu Rule Lodge, No. 159, of this city, aud H. Wirt Newkrik, W. M. of VVashteuaw Lodge, No. 64, Dexter. Other members of Goldeu Rule Lodge also assisted in the work. W. B. Phillips aud C. W. "Wagner went to Whitmore Lake fishiug ou Weduesday. It is said they caugbt enough fish to give the Youug Meu's Christiau Association au imagiuary fish supper.
