This has been a lively week in school ch'clee at Saline. Commencement period was inangnrated by the baccalaureate sermón of Rev. T. ,,B. Lietb. On Wednesday evening occurred class day at which the 14 gradnates appeared at their best. The program was loDg bnt was greatly enjoyed by the 700 people who were able to get within the opera house. The usual class day list of salutatory, history, prophecy, poern and valedictory, together with two orations, two essays, two declamations, two recitations oonstituted the program and gave eaoh of the seniora a part. The local Moz ait Male Quartet furnished excellent and popular music I for the occasion. Thursday forenoon was occupied by promotion exercises and the placing of a class memorial stone in the school yard. Commencement proper carne Thursday evening at which Supt. H. R. Pattengill gave the address. He spoke in bis usual vigorons style, his subject being "Touch the button." The Ypsilanti society orchestra Lurnished music for the occasion. The graduates and conrses were as follows: Latin-Scientific course - Melissa Mary Hall, Alice K. Stram, FreoVGregory Pierce. German-Soientific course - Louise H. Burkhart, Lilla M. Schaffer. English course - Donna O. LaRue, Otto S. Schairer, Don Albert Lawrenpe, Ida May Walker, Elroy Bennett Briggs, Abigail I. Chaudler, Grosvenor Milo Rouse. John Ralph Mitchell, Sumner Dean Briggs. Tonigbt the Alumni association holds forth with a special program.
