The congregation of St. Patrick's church, Northfield, and its energetic pastor, Rev. L. P. Goldriok, having decided to go out of the picnic business, and as a consequence will give a grand final picnic at Whitmore Lake, on Saturday of next week, July 4. A day's outing will do no one any harru and to spend it at such a pleasant place as Whitinore Lake and on such an occasion, should make it donbly pleasant. Through the efforts of the j able Fr. Goldrick a fine program has been prepared for the oocasion. Among its numbers will be an address by Terence B. McDonnell, an eloquent lawyer of Toledo, O. James E. Harkins, of Ann Arbor, who is veil known to all, will sing two of his latest songs "The church across the way, " and "The deacon went astray. " Other local talent aud some from a distance will also assist in entertaining the gathering. At noon the ladies of the congregation will serve one of thoae dinners for which they are so jiistly famous and everybody who atteuds can rely on gettiug a good meal at a moderate price - 25 cents. The Anu Arbor railroad has made. arnple preparations to take care of the crowds that may attend aud will run trains during the day as follows at tbe rate of 25 cents for the round trip, chiidren 15 cents: Leave Ann Arbor for the lake at 7 :38 and 10 a. m., 1 :00 and 4:88 p. ai. Beturjing leave Whitmore Lake at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:22 p. m.
