Two bundred and fifty bicycle maaufactnrers, five large tire makers and 500 manufacturera of sundries, having a total investment of $69,000,000, have been benefited by this traffio. The es timated capitil invested in retail establishments, repair shops, race tracks anc olub hotises is $'21,000,000, makiug the total American investment in cycling eqnal to $600,000,000. During 1896 it is claimed 1,000,000 wheels and 3,000,000 tires will be prodnced, giving employment to 75,000 bicycle workers and 3,000 tire employees. Fifty thousand persons are employed in sundries factoiies and 22,000 as retail dealers and repair men, making the total nuniber of persons connected with the bicycle industry 4,250,000. Verily, the cycle is getting there.
