During the heavy storm of thunder and lightuing oh Saturday afternoon last, several men were up iu the signal bos which is being ereoted at the junctiou of the Anu Arbor aud Graud Truuk railroads, at Haruburg Junctiou. They w.ere standing aronnd in various parts of the little roorn,and one of them, Henry Mathesou, a carpenter who had only been at vork there for a few days was standing with his head out of the wiridöw, wheu a blindiug flash of electricity came which struck the flagpole on top of the building, coursed along the roof aud enteriug the roorn, struck Mathesou in the back of the head killiug him instantly. Four other men were severely shocked, one of whom entirely lost his hearing. A doctor was brought up f rom Hamburg but he could do uothing for the unfortunat.e man as he was past all human aid.
