Rainbows That Can Change Sex

In many parts of the world it is the general belief that the rainbow has the power to change sex. This queer belief obtains in suoh widely separated districts as South África and Norway and China and Australia. The Zulus have a long folklore story of the yonng man who was changed into a wrinkled old TPOiuan by touching the ruany hued arch. The Scaudinavian peasants have a similar story, and in Greece they say that anybody who runs against the end of the rainbow will have his or her sex inetantly changed. In France and India to pass under the rainbow has a similar effect. ■
