Chicago, July 15.- The reports as to the condition of the crops throughout the country and the general effect of the weather on the growth, cultivation and harvest of samo were made Tuesday by the directors of the several climate and srop section. The reports received at Chicago were as follows: Illinois- Favorable week for work, which has been pushed; oats harvest and hay Ing pructically flnlshed, timothy saved In flne condition. Some threshing of oats, rye, and wheat dono. Wheat is poor to fair; rye and oats fair to good; oats Bomewhat dumaged by rust. - Corn is growing flnely; early earning well, and late being laid by. Iowa- ïdeul harvest weather, bright, cool and generally rainless. Harvest of oats and spring wheat in progross, and both crops mach hurt by rust. Oats has suffered more frora rust than wheat. Corn has made good advanceinent. Rain ís needed for immaturod crops. Michigan- Weather very favorable for wheat and rye harvest and haying which are nearing completion. Tbreshing has commenced. Oats are in flne condition, are ripening and in a few cases cutting has begun. Corn continúes in excellent condition and is beginning to tassel. Potatoes, beans and garden truck ure doing well. Everythiug needs more rain, especially pasturage, which is brown .and short. __ . Indiana- Excellent weather prevailea for harvesting and growing crops. Corn is in slik and tasaels; potatoes, tomatoes, meions and vegetables in good condition; tobáceo looks well; wheat and rye threshing most dono; oats harvest commenced; haying continúes. "Wisconsin- Week very warm with practieally no rain except light showers in northern section. Haying is about completed with a fair erop of good qualIty. Kye mostly cut in southorn and middle counties; excellent crops. Oats very heavy and beginning to ripen. Corn and pastures badly in nood of rain.
