The heavy storm of Sunday night did an immense amount of damage in varions parta of Michigan. Houses and barns wereblown down, trees uprooted, wheat and oats in stack blown away and great damage was done to outstanding crops. Southern Michigan sufïered even worse than did this section. At Belleville there was a regular cloud bnrst and electric storm lasting about two hours, which was one of the most severe iu the history of the place, doiog great damage to crops and fruit, üp to that time the erop prospeots had been unparalleled but the continuous rain of the past week, togetber with the heavy rain of Sunday night, nearly, if not entirely, destroyed tbe enormous oat erop now iu shock. Continuous wet weather is rotting the early potatoes ut a greal rate, which will cause a shortage o) the erop in that locality. A cordial iuvitation is extended to all students in the Snmiuer School anc to all youug people of the city to attenc the social given by the Yonug Peoples Societies of the Christiau Union a Newberry hall, this eveniug.
