St. Louis, July 29.- The heat in this city fov the past two days has been intense, a maximum of about 100 degrees in the shade being recordad. It was worse on the streets where the stone pavementa reflected the glare and heat of the sim and made outdoor lif'e almost unbèarable. There were many prosüratlons. The fatal cases were thoso of Mrs. Kate Bryon, aged 2S and William Zeihmann, a carpjnter, who died soon after being taken to the hospital. There were several other serious cases.
