Work Has Been Commenced

Junins E. Beal, seoretary of tbe Ann Arbor & Ypsilanti Electric Street Railway Co., was in Detroit, Saturday, aud signed a contract with the Micbigau Eleotrical Coiupany for fully equippiug the uew road vritb all the necessary electrical appliances. Ou Mouday work was coiuineuced rnarkiug out tbe places for the poles aloug the liue of the road betweeu here and Ypsilanti and the iuiproveineuts aud obanges will be pushed forward as rupidly as possible. Tbe contract calis for the completion of the work by Dec. 1, but as a bonus bas been olïered for its completion by Nov. 1, it is oonfidently espected that tbe work will be completed by tbat date. When the change is effected ona car will be run continually between Ypsilauti and the court house at Aun Arbor, which will do away with chauging cars at the juuction. The cost of tbe irnprovements will be betweeu $25,000 aud $30,000. The sower will be furuisbed by the Ann Arbor Electrio Lightiug Co. The cousolidatiou of the two roads takes effect Oct. 1 and Robert Hempfaill, jr. , of Ypsilauti, bas beeu elected superiutendent.
