Ann Arbor Lodge, No. 325, B. P. O. E., which contains within its rauks men from all parts of the cbunty, haviug coinpleted the adornment aud furuishing of its handsome suite of rooms in the Sudworth block, E. Washington st., celebrated that event yesterday afternoou and evening in a regular first class house warming style, and the jolly wearers of the elk's head badges kept' tbings moving all the time. In the moruing fully 150 Elks from Detroit. Jackson, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Toledo, Plint and other places, among hom were Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler Robert Lake, of Jackson, and Grand Secretary George Reynolds, of Saginaw, arrived in the city to take part in the proceedings. Others came in on later trains, until fully 173 strangers were present at the gathering. At 1 :30 p. ra. the oeremonies incident to the initiation of a class of 21 candidates were oormneuced-and continued until 11 o'clock. The work ended a banquet and social session was held over which Hon. James S. Gorman, of Chelsea, presided as toastmaster. The program was as follows : "Oui Gr.ests," Chas. H. Kline, exalted ruler, Anu Arbor Lodge, No. 325. "Our Hosts, " Chas. H. Smith, exalted ruler Jacksou Lodge, No. 113. Dialect soDg and dance, Harkins and Grauger. "The Elk, who is be?" Rev. H. H. E. Harkins. It was early in the morning when the weary Elks wended their way to tbeir several homes and hotels, surfeited â– with the pleasnres incident to the occasion.
