Miss Mary E. Dickey died in Battle Creek Sundaymoruing aftar a loug and paiuful illness froin a tumor iu the brain. For seven years she was a teacher of Germau in the Aun Arbor high school greatly eudearing herself to mauy huudreds of pupils as well as impartiug inuch iuforination to tbein by her thorough ïuethods of instruction. She gave up the work last Maroh, the position being held open for her some jnouths with the hope that her shattered health might be restored. Bat she gradually sauk uutil death oarue last Suuday as a welcoine release of a most reruarkalily patiënt sufferer. Not a single niurmur esoaped her lips during her extieruely painful illness. Miss Diakey taught in Marshall aud in Rockford, 111., ooming to Ann Arbor iu August, 1888, after a year in Europe. ín 1898 she spent a secoud year in Europe with a sister. Miss Dickey had a large oircle of frieuds in this city, owing to her jnany loveable traits of character aud she will be sadly missed. She was a woruanly wonaan, with wide iniormation and iuuch culture. The funeral services were held at Marshall Tuesday afternoon. Miss Dickey leaves a mother, two sisters and four brothers.
