Marie,says that the county clerks tbroughont Micbigan bave pocketed $7,500 that rigbtfully beloDged to the fuud for increasing the strength and efflcieuoy of the staff of deputy wardens. The law of '95 flxed the liosnse fee for resident deer hunters at 50 oents, one-half of whioh was to go to the oonnty clerk who is&ued a license and the other half to the state fnnd for tbo game warden's department. Aboat f15,000 was colleoted, but not a peuuy of it was tnrned into tbe fund. The county olerks kept it all. Wbat the game warden wants done tbis year is to inorease the license fee to $1, the olerk to keep 25 oents for himself and to pay over the balanr.e to tbe state treasurer for the warden's departnient.
