The first written statutcs are coraprised in the law of Moses, 1491 B. C. The first Greek laws were systematized by Draco 623 B. C. The laws of Lycurgns were made about 844 B. C. The Roman laws were first oompiled by Servius Tullius and amended by the Twelvo Tables in 449 B. C. The Pandects of Jnstinian were compiled in 533. Blackstone's Commentaries were published at Oxford in 1765 and 17(i9. The firsfc anthropological society, for the study of maukind considered with refereuce to the uuiuial history of the race, was founded in London in 1863.
