At the services oominemorative of the 93d birthday of Gen. Neal Dow, held by the W. C. T. ü., at the Methodist chnroh, Ypsilauti, Snnday night, Mrs. North Qass scored the daily papers, whioh she said would devote two or thtee columns to the Fitzsimmons-Corbett fight and dismiss temperance work with two or three lioes and prophesied that, while future generations would never celébrate Fitzsimmons' or Corbett's birthdays, they would the birthday of Rev. Dr. Byan, who had become prominent in tempetance work. Dr. Ryan took the ootiimon'council to task for abrogating the state law, whien calis for the closing of saloons at 9 o'clook in the evening, and allowing tbem to remain open uutil 11 o'clook at night and roasted the people because they continued to eleot such men to office.
